What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies can store a preference in your browser or help us check that a form is being used safely. They help a website remember choices and understand whether it is working well.
Nothing measures you until you say yes
When you first arrive, analytics and advertising are switched off. We ask before anything is stored on your device or used to measure you, and we do not treat continuing to browse as an answer. You choose between Accept all, Decline, and Manage individually, which lets you allow analytics without allowing advertising.
Only the essential security check described below runs either way, because without it the registration form cannot tell a person from a bot.
What we use
| Type | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential security | Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect the registration from spam and automated submissions. It loads only when you open the registration form, not on every page | Needed when you submit the registration form |
| Preference storage | Your cookie answer is stored in your browser as knf-analytics-consent, with the date you gave it, so you are not asked again on every visit | Stored whichever way you answer, including when you decline |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 (G-HPKZBW4J6Q) tells us which pages and festival sessions people look at, so we can improve the site. It may set cookies beginning with _ga | Off unless you allow Analytics |
| Advertising and campaign measurement | Google Tag Manager (GTM-KFDTRCDM) and Google advertising services let us measure which campaigns brought people to the festival, and may build audiences for personalised advertising | Off unless you allow Marketing |
Google Tag Manager, and what happens before you answer
All measurement on this site runs through the Google Tag Manager container GTM-KFDTRCDM, which in turn controls the Google Analytics tag. We use Google Consent Mode v2: before you answer, all four Google consent signals — analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization — are set to denied, so no analytics or advertising cookies are written and no identifiers are stored on your device.
We would rather be plain about one thing: the container script itself is downloaded from googletagmanager.com when the page loads, before you have answered. That request reaches Google with your IP address and browser details, as any request for a file does. While consent is denied, Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals from it and cannot store or read anything on your device. If you decline, it stays that way.
Your choice, and changing it
You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings in the footer of the festival website and of the registration page. Withdrawing takes effect immediately: analytics and advertising are switched back off the moment you click it, before you choose anything new. Withdrawing is exactly as easy as agreeing — one click, in the same place.
We ask again after 180 days, and whenever the list of services on this page changes in a way your earlier answer could not have covered.
You can also remove or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential security technology may stop the registration form from working.
